This application will include detailed, personal accounts of your past experiences and what you are hoping to gain from living at Providence Home. “Papa” Henry Hennagan was born on July 28th, 1944 and “born again” at age fourteen. He is the third child in his family with three brothers and three sisters. Reggie Boan has been an active member of Gateway Baptist Church for some 30 years, serving on and chairing various committees. He brings his longtime experience and expertise as a public accountant and financial advisor to our Providence Home Board where he currently serves as our treasurer.
We will again review all the rules and expectations, as well as holistic services you will have access to through Providence Home. Orientation will also include a needs assessment and processing for health services. Located one mile north of the heart of downtown Columbia SC, Providence Home is a good place to start for any man who is looking to transform his life and move forward into independent living. Life began to change drastically in the late 90s when he answered the Lord’s calling into ministry. After a successful business career, Mark felt the Lord calling him into ministry. Originally from Georgia, in 2004 and at the tender age of 36, Mark moved with his wife and two small children to South Carolina so he could pursue a degree in Biblical education from Columbia International University. Christy Cox currently serves as the Developmental Director of Providence Home. She has three decades of experience in communications, working as a television reporter and then in government, at the state and federal levels, including at the U.S.

Having opened the new 27-bed Southeastern Freight Lines Dormitory in August 2020, we currently house 45 men – and will soon have room to house 60 men with the renovation of our Zenoni Dormitory! Phone and in-person interviews are scheduled Monday-Friday, according to available beds or anticipated Department of Corrections release dates. Mark has been married to the beautiful Charlene for 30 years and they have two adult children, Alex and Jacob, and one absolutely perfect grandson, Jase.
Providence Home is located on North main street, one mile from the heart of downtown Columbia, South Carolina, and is a Christ-Centered transitional ministry for men. Men at Providence Home are seeking stability in their lives during recovery from substance abuse, re-integration from prison, or other unstable circumstances. As a temporary home, we are a good fit for someone who desires to take advantage of support and accountability while working hard.
